This place is BIG

Your humble narrator just walked about 5 miles this afternoon and didn't begin to make a dent in all the exhibits, activities and shows available here. 40,000 Scouts make for a good time and the theme for the afternoon is enthusiasm/hydration fusion. Check out the new pics posted at www.emeritbadges.org

30000 acres is about 4 1/5 square miles.

THank you so much. Could you get over to subcamp 20 and take a picture of 2061 gateway? I helped with it and would love to see how it turned out. My son tells me everything is Miles away from his subcamp...Do you really have to walk miles to everything?

my 16 year old is pretty lazy and I think he is not doing alot because he doesn't want to walk! There is no kind of bus or anything??

Thanks. I don't know why he doesn't take the bus then. He wanted to try and find an Irish scout but he said they are in subcamp 20 and he is in subcamp 5. Maybe he walked there today with the cooler weather. He has not called yet today.

Troop 1451 from Mid-America Council has a neat gateway with an airplane flying through it. All the MAC troops have airplane themes. Check them out!! It would be awesome to see their gateways on the web.

Your photos are the best, waaaayyyyy better than the official site. I've passed your URL around all rents here at 606.
You should do an upload server for everyone on-site with a digital camera -- maybe next time.

Yes, the official site isn't nearly as informative as it was during the '01 Jamboree. Last time we got .pdf files of the Jamboree Today, more pictures, factoids that grew day by day, and a much more interactive site. So the news blurbs and pictures on emeritbadges.com are very much appreciated.

Thank you, thank you. This site has meant the world to me over the past week. Our 14 yr old is at Jamboree (sub camp 20 also :) ) and even though I have not seen any pictures of him it has been wonderful to see that everyone is ok and having a great time! You have allowed us to take part in some of the fun!

Really appreciate the photos of everything. I keep hoping I will see my son but no such luck. I hope he is taking advantage of as much as he can. He is also in subcamp 20. Found your site on 7/26 and have enjoyed looking around.
Since my Dad, brother and husband were engineers I was familiar with IEEE.
