The Arena and The Chief

The arena saw President Bush, hot-air balloons, bluegrass, fireworks and much more last evening. Let's hear some comments out there. Check out our latest pics up from last night: www.emeritbadges.org

You have done a great job keeping us updated. Sadly, it's been better than the information we get from BSA. Is there some way to make a donation, especially for the next Jamboree?

THanks again for the pictures. It's as beautiful as I thought it would be from listening to it on QBSA. Love the cande lighting picture.

Great job on the photos and keeping us up-to-date with what's going on at the Jamboree.

For those looking for more pictures, video, etc. Check out the First Army Jamboree website. Click on "News" on the left navigation for newsletters, photos & video.

Your pictures really capture the feeling at the Jamboree. I get the sense from the "official" site that they are looking for a professional photo with perfect composition and perfect color. Frankly, most of us, who are constantly looking, want to see the kids in action, the campsite set ups, the facilities, the food, the day-to-day life of our Scouts. And we want to see LOTS of them...we want new ones to appear all the time. This is one place your site really shines. The official site is often DAYS behind. We are all craving a glimpse of what our kids are doing (with the money we've invested) and we want current info...not stuff days after. Thanks for this outlet...the pictures and the chance to share our comments.

The official BSA streaming QBSA is a great addition to the Jamboree this year...I hope the BSA is able to get back on track with an informative, always changing site for the next Jamboree...the '01 site offered more timely news from the hill.

I like the idea of making donations to this group.
BSA has said they will sell photos from their web site on CD. Look under Jamboree Today.

Was also wondering if the emeritbadges group will offer thier photos on CD to purchase???

That's a great idea about putting out a cd of pictures from emeritbadges.org. I have already sent my order form in for the BSA site but really like the pictures from here. It would be a different view from the Jamboree that our scouts could enjoy for many years. I too would be willing to donate to this site. It has been a great way for me to get some insight into what my son is doing.

Thanks for everything. The website has been great, despite the annoyances. Great, great job!!!

You have been AWESOME at supplying a blog and candid photo source for parents! Thank you so much! I was at Jamboree Sunday for the closing ceremony and I had no idea how HUGE the place was till I tried to get to subcamp 18 from the arena in under 45 minutes. I never made it to your booth but really wanted you to know IEEE has made a positive impression on me!

How were the scouts from each subcamp that were sitting on the stage chosen? How many from each subcamp were allowed?
